Complex, complete, outstanding.
Tasted bottle No.1404
This is a third vintage for Quails' Gate's Connemara; a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc; very limited quantities, 10 barrels, were made. It is named for the top portion of the home block vineyard, given by Irish immigrant Richard Stewart Sr. - the grandfather of the current proprietors.
A significantly weighty numbered bottle is home to this muscular blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
A succulent wine with incredible posture and aromas of dusty plums, black currents, licorice, mocha, vanilla and dry earth. It is smooth and yet vibrantly juicy; it is also complete, balanced and drinking extremely well now, but it is also a wine to age for up to a decade.
